Tank Alert is a free fuel-price comparison service for Germany. We aggregate official Tankerkönig data from 18,000+ petrol stations, analyse trends, and help you refuel smarter — no subscriptions, no tracking before consent, no hidden agenda.

Open, licensed data

All prices come from Germany's official Market Transparency Unit (MTS-K), run by the Federal Cartel Office, and delivered through the Tankerkönig API under Creative Commons BY 4.0 — the same source ADAC, major media outlets, and navigation apps rely on.

We want drivers in Germany to know — at a glance — when and where it's worth filling up. No subscriptions, no paywalls, no hidden affiliate tricks. Just prices, trends, and alerts.

Editorial standards

Our editorial content (fuel knowledge, when-to-refuel, saving tips) is written by the Tank Alert editorial team and regularly checked against live market data, ADAC analyses, and German oil-industry association reports. Sources are linked transparently.

Privacy first

We don't track anything until you accept the cookie banner. Price alerts and favourites work with a simple email — we never sell your profile to ad networks.

Methodology

Prices are reported every 1–2 minutes by stations to MTS-K — Tank Alert mirrors this continuously, so live search is accurate within seconds.
Market analyses (daily trend, weekly trend, cheapest hour) are computed from a rolling 30-day window of our own snapshots, keeping analysis independent of third parties.
City and motorway rankings refresh every 6 hours and cache nearby stations — this respects the official API and stays stable for everyone.
Editorial articles are updated whenever the market meaningfully changes (new fuel-price rule, CO2 tax adjustments, geopolitical events).
