E5 or E10 — which is better for my car?

Super E10

10% bioethanol

  • Cheaper than E5 (approx. 2–5 ct/L)
  • Compatible with ~95% of petrol cars
  • More eco-friendly due to bio content
  • Slightly lower energy content
  • Not suitable for older vehicles (pre-2000)

Super E5

5% bioethanol

  • Universal compatibility — every vehicle
  • Slightly higher energy content per litre
  • Recommended for classic cars & motorbikes
  • Required for vehicles without E10 approval
  • More expensive than E10 — no benefit if E10 fits

💡 Recommendation:

Most modern cars can use E10 — check your fuel cap sticker or owner's manual. If E10 is approved for your car, use it and save up to €50 per year.
